Trinitite

Trinitite is a green glass formed from the sand at the Trinity Site in New Mexico during the world's first atomic bomb test.​Initially believed to have formed from sand melting at ground level, a 2010 study revealed trinitite sand was actually pulled into the explosion, melted at high temperatures, and then cooled and solidified as it fell.

Diorite

Diorite is a coarse-grained igneous rock that forms when magma cools slowly underground. It's made up of plagioclase feldspar, amphibole, and pyroxene minerals, with small amounts of biotite mica.

Lake Superior Banded Ironstone

Banded iron formations are distinctive units of sedimentary rock consisting of alternating layers of iron oxides and iron-poor chert.
